The Cosmopolitan Heart of the Barossa Valley
Tanunda, South Australia
Tanunda, reputedly an Aboriginal word meaning water hole was established in 1848 by free settlers fleeing from religious persecution in Prussia.
Tanunda today is the cosmopolitan heart of the Barossa Valley with an ever-growing mix of cafés, restaurants, butchers, bakeries, cellar doors and craft breweries providing a small glimpse into the vast array of the world-famous Barossa food, wine, festival and event offerings.
As well as being a boutique retail hub, Tanunda is a family friendly town, with numerous parks, playgrounds, picnic spots, walking trails and activities.
